A Los Angeles nursing assistant was arrested for the alleged sexual abuse of patients at a care home.

The suspect was identified as Kayode Agbolade Ogunba, 61, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities began investigating the case on Nov. 3, 2025, after two patients at a care home on South Patterson Road in Goleta said they had been sexually assaulted by Ogunba, who was working as a certified nursing assistant.

Detectives learned that similar allegations involving Ogunba had been reported in the Los Angeles area.

Following an investigation, on Jan. 20, 2026, Ogunba was arrested in L.A. on multiple felony charges including sexual penetration, lewd or lascivious acts by a caretaker against a dependent person involving force and elder abuse, along with a misdemeanor count of sexual battery of a dependent adult.

Detectives, who are searching for more possible victims, said Ogunba may have worked as a nursing assistant in other states, including Washington and Texas, within the past seven years.

It’s believed Ogunba may have been known by the name “Kay” in professional or personal settings.

Ogunba was booked into the Santa Barbara County Main Jail, where he remains in custody on $100,000 bail
