Lisa Brown, Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds, was elected by her peers as 1st Vice President of the Michigan Association of County Clerks (MACC), effective Jan. 1, according to a press release.

Leadership elections were held at the MACC Annual Conference in August 2025. Brown previously served as 3rd Vice President of the MACC.

“I’m grateful for the confidence placed in me by my fellow County Clerks,” said Brown. “MACC provides an important forum for County Clerks to receive training, share best practices, and discuss the issues affecting our offices and the services we deliver. The professional development I have received from my involvement in MACC has helped me be a better County Clerk for the people of Oakland County.”

2026 will be Brown’s 14th year serving as the Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds.

She is also active with the Michigan Association of Registers of Deeds and was appointed by the governor to serve on the Michigan Electronic Recording Commission.

A lifelong Oakland County resident, Brown graduated from Michigan State University and the Detroit College of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and a former state representative.
