ESPN will kick off Super Bowl 2027 coverage with live programming from Disneyland, SoFi Stadium, and Hollywood Park

Disney and ESPN will host a 24-hour event for the 2027 Super Bowl. The initiative will kick off ESPN’s coverage of the big game, with some coverage taking place in Disneyland Park.

“The Handoff” will start its coverage of the 2027 Super Bowl more than a year in advance, establishing an on-air presence in Southern California, curated by ESPN.

Super Bowl LXI will take place at SoFi Stadium in California on February 14th, 2027. The coverage begins there, then moves to Hollywood Park. Disneyland will have special moments on the following day, February 9th, as ESPN airs the Super Bowl for the first time.

ESPN said in a statement, “The Handoff” will feature “live shows, exclusive reveals and original storytelling from locations throughout Southern California,” available on streaming platforms.

Beginning with the crowning of the next Super Bowl champions inside Levi’s Stadium and the conclusion of NFL Prime Time, Chris Berman will “hand off” to Scott Van Pelt, who will be at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. The excitement continues the following day in Anaheim, ESPN will broadcast “First Take with Stephen A. Smith, multiple editions of SportsCenter, NFL Live, and a second episode of Super Bowl Live,” according to KTLA5. ESPN will also welcome and honor a player from the Super Bowl LX championship team.
