Last time out: Trailing by nine points with just over four minutes to go and without star guard Ty-Laur Johnson (who had fouled out), USD battled back to score a 92-88 overtime win at Pepperdine Tuesday night. Assane Diop had career-highs of 21 points and 17 rebounds, making 9 of 10 shots from the floor. Toneari Lane also scored 21 points, 10 coming in overtime, and was 5-for-9 from 3-point range. Johnson scored 16 points before fouling out and guard Adrian McIntyre added 14 points.

Toreros update: USD has won three of its last four games. Diop has 67 points with 55 rebounds, 17 assists, five steals and four blocked shots over six straight starts while shooting 59% from the floor. Guards Johnson (16.0 points per game with 4.6 assists), Lane (10.6), Juanse Gorosito (10.4) and McIntyre (9.8 points plus 3.7 rebounds) continue to lead the Toreros in scoring. Diop is up to 5.4 points a game with a team-leading average of 4.9 rebounds per game. USD averages one more steal and two fewer turnovers per game than its opponents.

Beavers update: Oregon State had lost three of four games before scoring a 72-69 victory at Loyola Marymount on Wednesday. Josiah Lake II leads Oregon State with 13.2 points a game and is tops in assists and steals; he ranks second in rebounding. Oregon State is in negative territory in rebounds (minus-3.7 per game), turnovers (minus-1.9) and steals (minus-1.4) while shooting only 42% from the floor.
