BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Annual Point in Time Count was held on January 28.
The count, put on by the Bakersfield-Kern Regional Homeless Collaborative, helps determine how many people in our community are experiencing homelessness.
The data is used to allocate funding, services and long-term solutions for the homeless population.
Carlos Baldovinos, Executive Director for the Mission at Kern County, joined ARC Bakersfield to share how this initiative impacts the community.
Baldovinos says the information collected during the Point in Time Count is crucial to connecting the homeless community to services they need.
