People marching against ICE in San Francisco in 2018. The work continues.
T’was a busy week. To wit:
Another foraged mushroom fatality occured. Oh Californians, please stop eating Death Caps!
County staff and volunteers partipated in the annual Point-In-Time count of unhoused individuals on Thursday, Jan. 29, with official tallies to be released later this year. Some expect the numbers to show a decline over last year.
And while we’re talking about counties—the call is out for citizens to serve on their local Civil Grand Jury. Consider serving on one in your county for a year; it’s one of the ways citizens provide oversight over local government.
Another way is to protest when government goes off the rails and shoots citizens down in the freaking streets as happened to Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. Young people walked out of class and hit the streets in anti-ICE marches across the country on Friday, Jan. 30, with thousands more attending protests the following day. And since we’re talking about the protests of last week, we would be remiss not to mention the next nationwide No Kings protests scheduled for March 28.
The work continues, and so does The News:
