OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – An Oakland County man who contacted a 15-year-old girl on Instagram and met up with her for sexual purposes has been sentenced.
On Jan. 30, 2026, Valor James Harrison, 22, of Rochester Hills, was sentenced to one year in the Wayne County Jail after he pleaded guilty to accosting a child for immoral purposes and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. Harrison received credit for 157 days already served and was also issued five years of probation.
The charges stem from a case that began in July 2025, when Harrison reportedly contacted the 15-year-old victim on Instagram and met with them to engage in sexual activity.
Investigators from the Northville Township and Canton Township Police Departments took Harrison into custody on August 26, 2025.
Authorities said that Harrison had prior encounters with law enforcement related to sexually inappropriate behavior.
As part of a plea deal, Harrison pleaded guilty to charges of accosting a child for immoral purposes and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. All other charges were dismissed.
