For the first time in his SMC career, redshirt freshman Sam Baumuller took home this week’s Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week award after his 10th place finish at the N.I.T. in Tucson last week.
Saint Mary’s finished in a tie for fourth place in a deep field and were the top WCC school at 20-under-par. Baumuller was the Gaels standout with his t-10th place finish at 7-under-par over his three rounds. He recorded a low round of 67 (-5) in the second round which featured four birdies and an eagle on the par five 10th. This was his fourth top-10 finish of the 2025-26 campaign and 7-under went down as his second lowest tournament score of his career after finishing 11-under in the Island Resort Intercollegiate back in September.
