The Long Beach City Clerk will hold a candidate workshop on Feb. 9 for members interested in running for local office during the June 2 primary nominating election.
The workshop will be offered both in-person at City hall (411 W. Ocean Blvd.) and online via Zoom and is open to anyone considering candidacy for the offices of mayor, city attorney, city auditor, city prosecutor or city council districts 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9.
Participants will receive an overview of the election process, including nomination and candidate statement guidelines, campaign regulation, campaign finance, ethics and local election laws.
The workshop will take place during the nomination period, which begins Feb. 9 and will remain open through March 6 at 5 p.m.
Nomination packets will be available after the workshop for candidates ready to begin the filing process. The Candidate Handbook will also be available at the event’s conclusion, and can be accessed online through the City Clerk’s webpage.
