Monday

Half-off museum month: Half-off admission at participating San Diego County and Tijuana museums is back. Throughout February, locals can visit over 70 museums at a discounted rate. The public can receive their 50% admission discounts by picking up free printed museum passes at about 80 public libraries throughout the county. Digital passes can be downloaded directly to smartphones on the San Diego Museum Council website. sandiegomuseumcouncil.org 

“California Suite”: Carlsbad Playreaders’ opens its 2026 season with a reading of Neil Simon’s 1976 play, a series of four unrelated one-acts that all take place in the same Beverly Hills hotel room. 7 p.m. Monday. Seniors visit for free: Guests 65 years and older are getting complimentary entrance to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park every day in February for its Senior Free Month promotion. To enter for free, seniors must present a valid photo identification with their date of birth at the park’s main gate. The Safari Park offers 1,800-acres where more than 3,000 mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians and arthropods roam the land, including habitats for tigers, giraffes, elephants and condors. Lunar New Year at SeaWorld: SeaWorld San Diego is touting this year its “most expansive” Lunar New Year celebration yet. For three weeks, visitors to the theme park can see performances from La Jolla Taiko and lion dancing as well as order cultural foods. Jan. 31 through Feb. 16. 500 SeaWorld Drive, San Diego. “The Art of Banksy: Without Limits”: An international touring exhibition that celebrates the life and work of Banksy, the anonymous British street artist whose whimsical, satirical and protest graffiti artwork has turned up in cities around the world, opened Friday at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The exhibit features 200 artworks, some certified originals lent by private collectors and the rest are replicas. Noon to 8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. Through April 19. Chocolate in the Americas exhibit: The Heritage of the Americas Museum puts on a Chocolate in the Americas immersive exhibit through Feb. 28 looking at the history, culture and science of chocolate from its ancient origins to modern traditions. Highlights include displays, hands-on workshops, lectures, live demonstrations and tastings. The museum is at 12110 Cuyamaca College Drive West. Caitlin Rother event: Local author and journalist Caitlin Rother will discuss her new series, Katrina & Goode, much of which takes place in La Jolla.
