Hundreds of fans of the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots gathered outside the San Jose Convention Center on Monday in hopes of seeing their favorite players during Super Bowl Opening Night.

Most who waited in line for hours said they don’t have tickets to the big game on Sunday, so Opening Night was the next best thing.

Stephanie Quintanilla arrived in the morning to be first in line.

“This is the closest I can get to the Seahawks,” she said. “I’m really excited that they made the Super Bowl. I’m hoping to meet some of them.”

Thomas Bernetski said he had to be at Opening Night because he’s been a Patriots fan since he was 2 years old.

“Just a big fan,” he said. “I like the quarterback, all the team. I’m just tickled pink that the Patriots actually are in the Super Bowl.”
