Officials are hiring for a variety of roles ranging from mail processing and delivery to transportation and maintenance.“Just having an attitude of wanting to work, work hard and help your community — that’s how I came in,” said Meiko Patton, a spokesperson for USPS. “If you’re willing to give it your all, we’re definitely here to help you because we need you, we want you, and we want you to succeed.”Patton added that the Postal Service is also a great place for recent high school graduates to start a career.“So for individuals who are graduating high school and they want to have a career in the Postal Service, and not only that, but serve your community. What we do best as postal workers is connecting the community through mail,” she said. “This would be a great way to give back. And our wages are competitive. So if this is something you’d like to do for your family and your community, definitely apply.”Officials encourage applicants to bring a resume, dress to impress, and come with a positive attitude and a smile. These are qualities they say make a lasting impression.The Postal Service says jobs start at $20 an hour or more and include benefits. They’re also willing to train new employees who are eager to learn.For those who can’t attend Tuesday’s event, USPS will also be one of up to 60 employers at the Yolo County Job Fair in West Sacramento on Thursday. That event takes place at City Hall on West Capitol Avenue.Applicants must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
