BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — California High-Speed Rail Authority CEO Ian Choudri, state and local officials, labor partners, and construction workers will be coming together to celebrate the completion of the southern railhead facility in Kern County.

According to a release, the 150-acre site near Wasco can begin receiving rail, ties, poles, and other materials needed to build high-speed rail track and systems along the California high-speed rail corridor.

The release, “This completion marks a major milestone for California’s first-in-the-nation system as the program transitions from civil construction to rail delivery.”
