SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Skeletal remains found earlier this month along the Sacramento River in Courtland belong to a man who went missing from West Sacramento over a year ago, authorities said Tuesday.
In the early hours of June 26, 2024, Alejandro Reyes Cisneros left his West Sacramento residence with unknown subjects in a newer model black pickup truck, according to the West Sacramento Police Department.
Cisneros was 39 years old at the time and considered at-risk because he didn’t have his medication. As of January, police said he still hadn’t had contact with his family since going missing.
On Oct. 9, his remains were found around 11 a.m. along the 12000 block of River Road by reclamation district employees, according to Sacramento County officials.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has classified Cisneros’ death as a homicide. Law enforcement has not said to what extent they’re looking into the case.
The West Sacramento Police Department did not immediately respond to ABC10’s inquiry, but this article will be updated if and when more information is provided.
Cisneros went by nicknames “Little Al” and “Butch” and had an unknown tattoo on his neck, according to a missing persons’ post by the California Attorney General’s Office.
