FRESNO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men’s basketball team suffered its fourth straight loss, 98-96, to Fresno State on Tuesday night at the Save Mart Center.

The Runnin’ Rebels (10-12, 5-6) were led by Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn’s 28 points, while Howie Fleming Jr. added 23. Additionally, the duo of Issac Williamson and Kimani Hamilton scored 14 apiece.

Jake Heidbreder scored a game-high 29 points to lead Fresno State (11-11, 5-6), and four other Bulldogs scored in double figures.

TURNING POINT: Fresno State erased UNLV’s 12-point lead, 76-68, with 6:44 left as Fresno State made three straight field goals to cut the deficit to eight, 80-72. With multiple UNLV players fouled out, including Gibbs-Lawhorn with 2:06 left, Fresno State clawed its way back and cut the deficit to three, 96-93, with six seconds left. FSU went on a 7-0 run in the final six seconds of the game, as David Douglas Jr. would go on to make a three-pointer with 1.5 seconds left to tie the game at 96. On the ensuing inbound, Fleming Jr. overthrew Naas Cunningham on the other end of the floor and the ball went out of bounds to give possession back to the Bulldogs at its basket. Heidbreder would end the contest on a game-winning three pointer as time expired.

STAT OF THE GAME: UNLV had five players foul out and were limited to just five available players in the final minute of the contest. Furthermore, 62 total fouls were committed, including 34 from UNLV, and 80 free throws were attempted.

QUOTABLE: “Tough pill to swallow and a tough loss. It’s really disappointing and we had a chance to win and didn’t get it done. We just kept fouling and they kept on getting to the free throw line. I knew going into that last six seconds, we had Naas with four fouls and we didn’t have anyone else to put in case he fouled out and we wanted to foul. That’s not on the players, that’s on me.” – UNLV head coach Josh Pastner
