MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary’s Men’s Water Polo has nabbed its first transfer out of the portal, as Ethan Klerck has signed on for the inaugural season this coming fall.
Klerck spent the first two years of his collegiate career at Whittier College as a captain of the team. As a driver and utility player, he recorded 81 goals and 50 assists over his time with the Poets. For both the 2024 and 2025 season, Klerck was the fourth leading goal scorer on the team.
A Cape Town, South Africa native, Klerck attended Rondebosch’s Boys High School where he played three years of both water polo and rugby. Klerck also spent time as the South African under-17 national team captain.
With his collegiate experience and success, Klerck will look to make an early impact on the new program.
