The Los Angeles Angels have announced Kurt Suzuki as their next manager. Suzuki replaces Ron Washington, who only managed part of the 2025 season due to health issues.

Suzuki, 42, is a 16-year major-league veteran who caught for five different teams, finishing his career in 2022 after two seasons with the Angels. He has spent the last three years as a special assistant to Angels GM Perry Minasian.

Suzuki’s hiring comes after the Angels engaged in talks with former Angels star Albert Pujols, who was said to have the job if he wanted it. But discussions broke down over term and salary issues, according to a team source.
