Last time out: UC San Diego snapped a three-game losing streak with a 77-74 win over Long Beach State Thursday night at LionTree Arena. Bol Dengdit led the Tritons with 18 points and 12 rebounds and preserved UCSD’s lead with a blocked shot with 15 seconds to play. Freshman Hudson Mayes had put UCSD ahead with a pair of free throws with 26 seconds to go and guard Alex ChaIkin added two free throws with 15 seconds to play to seal the win and end UCSD’s longest losing streak in three years. Long Beach State took a 13-0 lead to open the game. Freshman Jaden Vance scored a career-high 17 points in support of Dengdit while Chaikin scored 16 and was 3-for-5 from three-point range.

Tritons update: Cade Pendleton made his first start against Long Beach and freshman Hudson Mayes made his second start in the absence of injured forward Emanuel Prospere Jr. and leading scorer Leo Beath, who was limited to 19 minutes and five points. Dengdit, Chaikin and Tom Beattie also started against Long Beach. Beath is averaging 14.1 points and 5.0 rebounds a game to Dengdit’s 10.6 and 5.4 rebounds a game. Chaikin averages 10.6 points a game while Beattie averages 10.2 points and 5.4 rebounds a game.  Mayes is averaging 8.4 points and 5.1 rebounds a game.

Rainbow Warriors update: Hawaii is 13-1 in home games this season and is coming off an 89-82 win at Long Beach State last Saturday. Issac Johnson leads Hawaii with 13.1 points per game, while Dre Bullock is averages 12.8 and Harry Rouhliadeff avreages 11.2.
