SACRAMENTO, Calif. — More than 20 people were arrested in a retail theft operation at a South Sacramento Dollar Tree, authorities said.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said the store on Florin Road had called for service 67 times in just over three months, prompting the targeted retail theft operation.
In total, the sheriff’s office said 21 people, including four juveniles, were arrested. Multiple suspects were identified as repeat offenders, and six people arrested are eligible for enhanced prosecution under Proposition 36.
“When theft is ignored, neighborhoods lose access to basic goods, small shopping centers decline, and law-abiding residents pay the price through higher costs and reduced options,” The sheriff’s office said in a statement
