The Seattle Seahawks are not the only big winners from the Super Bowl held at Levi’s Stadium.
It appears the Bay Area, particularly San Francisco and city businesses, saw a huge economic boost from the game and week of events leading up to Super Bowl LX.
“These big events are really important, not just for the events themselves, but I think for the halo effect of all these other parties and restaurants and bars being full,” San Francisco Chamber of Commerce CEO Rodney Fong said. “I’m sure anyone who was in the city felt that energy.”
Businesses were not the only thing getting a boost. Many out-of-town radio, television and podcast hosts who crowded in to cover the big game also spent days singing the city’s praises.
While numbers are still trickling in, San Francisco expects to make close to $1.5 billion between the Super Bowl, FIFA World Cup and NBA All Star events.
