It’s hard to believe that just a little over a year has passed since the devastating fires swept through parts of the Los Angeles area, destroying homes and displacing so many families in a matter of days. For those who lived through it, or watched it unfold, it still feels incredibly close. The loss wasn’t just about buildings, but about neighborhoods, routines and the sense of safety that comes with having a place to call home. Recovery doesn’t happen on a timeline, and for many people, the aftermath is still very real.

HGTV’s Leanne Ford was among those deeply affected when her Palisades-area home was decimated. In the wake of that loss, she found a refuge for her family in Venice, Calif.—a space that offered both comfort and a fresh start during an unimaginably difficult time. True to form, she transformed the home into an interior design dream, layering warmth, character and calm into every corner. Now, as life continues to evolve, she’s ready to move on once again and she’s parting with the Venice property.

“This project has been a true collaboration between my husband and me—a home we luckily landed in after the loss of our Rustic Canyon house in the Palisades Fire, and one that held us through a wild season of rebuilding, healing, and starting over,” Ford said in an Instagram post showing the property. “This was the house that allowed us to really explore the concept of bringing Los Angeles back into our lives.”

Ford likens the space to being styled as Buck Mason shop, which was founded by her husband Erik Allen Ford and Sash Koehn.

The property, listed by Diana Braun with Compass, sits at 518 Sunset Ave. with a price tag of $4.45M. It’s truly a magical space, with four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

The home was originally built in 1984 and includes a magnificent two-story guest house. With its luxury Gaggenau appliances, marble and concrete countertops and heated saltwater pool (plus a spa), this is the kind of property that feels high-end, carefully curated, yet livable and cozy in a well-styled way.

“You make the world such a dreamy place,” said one fan in the comment of Ford’s Instagram post.

Another person noted, “I honestly love every project you do more than the last…”

Ford hasn’t yet revealed where her family is planning to head next, but we’re sure it will be gorgeous.
