Pala Casino Spa Golf Resort has signed on as a founding and supporting partner for the NASCAR races at Naval Base Coronado next June 19-21.

The casino, the race’s first local sponsoring partner, will also help sponsor Tyler Reddick’s Toyota in the Anduril 250, the June 21 featured Cup race.

“All this is connected,” said Fred Buro, CEO of the Pala Casino Spa Golf Resort. “We’re an entertainment company and NASCAR fits our business. Plus, we feel (a) responsibility to the Navy and country for this event helping celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary.

“We’re really excited about being a sponsor and doing anything we can to help the Navy.”

Pala Casino was the title sponsor of the final NASCAR race at Fontana in 2020. And Reddick’s car will be the fifth one to be partially sponsored by the Pala Casino over the years. The Pala Band of Mission Indians also annually hosts the season-opening race of the U.S. Motocross Championship series each May.

“As it turns out, when we sponsored that Fontana race, we obtained rights to a future Southern California race,” said Buro. “There’s a halo effect for casino fans and NASCAR. We’ve also been involved in the Phoenix race. We’re really pleased to be part of the `Coronado weekend.

“We’ll have lots of seats, suites and signage, plus a car. Signing on with Michael Jordan’s 23XI team and Reddick followed a search seeking to find the right connection. We’ll also sponsor Reddick in the Sonoma road race.”
