On Nov. 6, 2025, police executed a search warrant on the home, where they found a McClintic’s body. Officers arrested Christina Cowens, 41, and booked her at the Sacramento County Main Jail.

Court Documents provided by the DA’s office show that Cowens is being charged with one felony count of violating Section 187(a) of the Penal Code and one felony count of violating Section 72 of the Penal Code.

The criminal complaint, filed on Nov. 10, 2025, alleges that Cowens “unlawfully, and with malice aforethought,” killed McClintic on or around July 3, 2025. The documents also alleged Cowens committed fraud.
