SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA — A man who stole merchandise at least six times in less than a month from one Sacramento County hardware store was arrested and charged this week, according to authorities.
Deputies arrested 33-year-old Anthony Eastman on Monday afternoon, after he entered a Harbor Freight Tools, stole items, left, then came back and stole more merchandise, police said.
Eastman was still near the store and still in possession of the stolen items — as well as some drug paraphernalia— when the deputies found him, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, which noted Eastman was on probation with three outstanding warrants.
“An employee also reported Eastman had stolen from the same business six times in the past three weeks, incidents that had gone unreported,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.
“The cumulative value of the merchandise stolen was several thousand dollars and the employee positively identified Eastman during a field show-up.”
Eastman was booked on suspicion of felony grand theft and misdemeanor possession, according to jail records, which said his total bail was $20,000.
