A Sacramento mother face homicide charges in the death of her 3-year-old son.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The mother of a three-year-old boy who died was arrested in connection to the investigation of the child’s death, according to the Sacramento Police Department.Â
Officers responded to a medical aid call after 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the 3300 block of Douglas Street in Sacramento’s Hagginwood neighborhood. Police said the boy was found inside the home with serious injuries.
Despite life-saving efforts, the child was pronounced dead by fire personnel. Police said the boy had blunt force trauma. The Sacramento County coroner’s office identified him as Jeremiah Cash Carter.
Investigators interviewed the boy’s mother, Brianna Butcher, 31. Following an investigation, she was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on homicide related charges.Â
