What if everyone who came to Balboa Park and everyone who would like to come to Balboa Park did so, and then everyone just wouldn’t pay for parking? Massive protest. That would be a lot of cars to ticket. And too many to tow. Would love to see it!

Re: “Balboa Park should copy Central Park Conservancy” (Jan. 17): James Ziegler makes an extremely important suggestion. Our city government has proven many times over to be inept in managing large-scale projects. As an Old Globe volunteer for more than 20 years, I am a regular park user. This marvelous resource must not become the victim of amateur operators!
Surely there are deep-pocket local residents who would support a conservancy to run the park, as long as City Hall can stay out of the way.
