FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno State baseball team picked up their first win of 2026 on Sunday afternoon, 14-8, over Utah.

A 9-run first inning certainly helped the Diamond ‘Dogs.

The University of Utah’s starting pitcher was chased after recording only two outs. By then, Cayden Munster (Clovis West), Cam Schneider (Bullard), Sky Collins (Buchanan), and Marcus Nolen (Central East) had driven in runs, the latter two via singles.

Fresno State’s starting pitcher Victor Arreola made his first appearance since March 11th of last year, coming back from a season-ending back inury. The fifth-year senior tossed four hitless innings and allowed one run.

A series finale at Pete Beiden Field was scheduled for Monday afternoon. It has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
