PALM DESERT, Calif.—Regina Roldan recorded her best collegiate finish as a Spartan, and helped the San José State women’s golf team finish ninth at the Alice and Johh Wallace Women’s Golf Classic at the par-71 Monterey Country Club.
Roldan shot her second consecutive 1-over 72 on Monday to finish in 13th place by herself at 5-over 218. After starting the final round bogey-par-bogey on holes 6-8, Roldan made par on every hole, except for a birdie on hole 2, to finish with her 72.
Kleopatra Kozakiewicz also shot a 1-over 72 to finish tied for 48th at 14-over par. She made 10 pars and three birdies during her round.
Isabella Cioe finished tied for 32nd at 10-over 223, shooting a 4-over 75 in the final round. She finished with 11 pars and a birdie over her final 13 holes.
Lotte Shuhr tied for 65th at 18-over 231, while Moa Andersson tied for 80th at 23-over 236.
Tessa Kremser, playing as an individual, shot a 3-over 74 on Monday to tie for 36th place at 11-over 224. She made 16 pars during her round; the only blemishes on her card were a bogey on 17 and a double bogey on 16.
Roldan and Kremser tied for 10th in the field in pars made with 38.
San José State maintained its spot at nine in the team standings after shooting a 297 in the final round.
UP NEXT – The Spartans host the Battle of the Bay with Stanford on March 2 at the Los Altos Country Club, starting at 11 a.m.
