BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — After a two-year closure, the Alta Sierra Ski Resort in Kern County is reopening this weekend, Feb. 21 and 22.
The resort announced in a social media post that 18 inches of snow fell today, with more on the way.

Alta Sierra will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend, with the ticket office opening at 8 a.m.
The ski resort last opened in February 2024.
Alta Sierra is located at 56700 Rancheria Road in Wofford Heights.
