BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The City of Bakersfield announced it will begin work on improving the sewer system in parts of downtown Bakersfield starting Monday, Feb. 23, 2026. Temporary road closures will be in place until its completion, expected by August 31, 2026.
Eye Street between Wall Street and 23rd Street will face temporary road closures. Detours will be in place.
Drivers are advised to plan when traveling through the area by allowing extra time or using alternative routes.
