DELANO, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Intermittent lane closures are planned for Hwy. 155 in the City of Delano next week for the State Route 155 Rehab Project, according to the Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

Starting Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, intermittent lane closures will go in effect due to utility relocation operations.

Caltrans said those relocations will take place along State Route 155 between Fremont St. and Browning Rd.

When the lane closures are in effect, Hwy. 155 will operate under one-way traffic control through the work zone. There will be flagging personnel present to guide drivers.

The utility relocation operations are expected to be completed in April 2026, according to Caltrans.

Closures may continue for longer periods of time, if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur.

Businesses at this location will remain open during construction and access to driveways will be maintained.

In a release, it said, “Caltrans would like to thank residents and commuters for their patience during this project and remember to please ‘Slow for the Cone Zone.’”
