Traffic Crash Near Maine Avenue Kills Pedestrian

Long Beach, CA (February 20, 2026) – 39-year-old Ramon Maldonado, of Hacienda Heights, was killed in a PCH pedestrian crash Wednesday night.

It was around 9:30 p.m. when the collision happened near Maine Avenue. 

Responding officers discovered the unconscious victim lying in the roadway and immediately provided medical aid but he died at the scene.

Investigators determined that a white 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer was eastbound on Pacific Coast Highway when it struck Maldonado who was crossing the roadway.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Troopers said speed, distracted, and impaired driving were not factors in the accident.
