Sheriff’s Department says homeless man was cited following confrontation at West Hollywood Park.

Video of a scuffle at West Hollywood Park is drawing attention after authorities said a man experiencing homelessness was cited following a confrontation with a Security Ambassador.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the altercation occurred Sunday and involved a member of the city’s Security Ambassadors program. The agency did not immediately release details about what led to the dispute but confirmed the man was cited afterward.

Footage posted on social media shows a Security Ambassador in a bright yellow uniform appearing to throw several punches while the two struggle on a sidewalk. Another Security Ambassador is seen stepping between them and breaking up the fight.

West Hollywood’s Security Ambassadors program was created in 2013 to provide a visible public-safety presence in the city. Ambassadors staff kiosks, conduct patrols and assist during special events, and they are deployed on major streets, alleys, parking lots and other public areas, including transit corridors.

The program operates in coordination with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department station that serves West Hollywood.

The City of West Hollywood issued a statement which says, “The City of West Hollywood is aware of a report and related video circulating on social media that appears to show a physical altercation between an individual experiencing homelessness and a member of the West Hollywood Security Ambassadors program. The reported altercation took place on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at West Hollywood Park.

The City and its contracted partner for the Security Ambassadors program, Allied Universal, are deeply concerned by what is depicted in the video. We take this matter very seriously. The City’s Community Safety Department has initiated a thorough review and is actively gathering all relevant information to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Security Ambassadors program is designed to enhance safety in West Hollywood. Ambassadors are expected to conduct themselves professionally and in accordance with the City’s standards, including treating every individual, including those experiencing homelessness, with dignity and respect. Accountability and transparency are essential; if the City’s review determines that policies, protocols, or contractual expectations were not followed, appropriate action will be taken.

The safety and well-being of our community is the City of West Hollywood’s highest priority. We are committed to maintaining community safety while upholding public trust and our core value of respect and support for all members of our community.”
