A man died after a late-night shooting on West El Camino Avenue in Sacramento. Detectives are invstigating and no suspect details have been released.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man was shot and killed Friday night in North Sacramento.

Sacramento Police were dispatched just before 9 p.m. to the 1500 block of West El Camino Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting in the area.

When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency crews transported him to a nearby hospital, where he later died despite life-saving efforts.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators took over the case. 

Police have not released any information about a possible suspect.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim once family members have been notified.
