San Francisco native Eileen Gu, competing for China, made history today at the Milan Cortina Olympics.

Gu took gold in the women’s freeski halfpipe on the last day of competition, making her the most decorated freestyle skier in Olympic history with a total of six medals.

Her final run score of 94.75 in the halfpipe final, an improvement on her second-run score of 94.0, was more than enough to earn her third medal in Milan and sixth overall for her Olympic career.

Earlier, Gu collected two silver medals at these Olympics, one in slopestyle and the other in big air. She won two golds and a silver at the Beijing Olympics in 2022.

Gu was born and raised in San Francisco and is currently attending Stanford University.
