SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Two people were hospitalized after being assaulted early Feb. 8, police said.

The victims reported the attack to officers at a Northern District station later that day, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Investigators said the victims were standing outside a business in the 3100 block of Fillmore Street when they were approached by a group of unknown men. After a brief verbal altercation, the victims walked away.

The group later confronted them again in the 2000 block of Union Street and physically assaulted them, police said. Both victims suffered extensive injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The case remains under investigation. Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the people of interest and have released photos in connection with the incident.
