BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man has died after being hit by two vehicles in Downtown Bakersfield on Sunday night.
According to Bakersfield Police, officers were called out at 8:20 p.m. on Sunday night to the 700 Block of Baker Street for reports of a man in the roadway.
Police say when officers arrived, they found a man laying injured in the road.
He was taken to the hospital and later died.
After an investigation police determined that the man was walking in the road, outside of a crosswalk, when he was hit by Chevrolet truck.
He was then struck a second time by a Nissan sedan.
Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Police say driver impairment is not a factor in the crash.
