A man was arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead Sunday night in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The LAPD tells NBC4 Investigates that a man walked into the Beverly Hills Police station at around 10 p.m. on Sunday to alert officers that they needed to go to a location where he had been involved in an altercation.
The man, approximately 23 years old, told police that someone had been hurt.
Beverly Hills police detained the man and turned over to the LAPD.
LAPD officers responded to the residence on the 1200 block of South Bedford Street where they found a woman, approximately 30 years old, with what appeared to be stab wounds.
The Los Angeles Fire Department also responded to the scene where the woman was determined to be deceased.
It was not clear what the relationship between the man and the woman was or what started the altercation.
The investigation is ongoing.
