FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is honoring the cultural heritage of Black Americans.
On Saturday, it hosted its celebration called “Art in Action: A Journey of Healing, Expression and Hope.”
Tasty treats were provided by food trucks.
Families enjoyed live entertainment and community resource booths.
The nonprofit “Reading Heart” was handing out free books to kids.
Staff with the zoo say this event creates a space to connect with each other.
This is the zoo’s fourth annual celebration for Black History Month.
