FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — Teams brought their A-game over the weekend to help raise money for young cadets.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office hosted its youth academy home run derby in Raisin City.
This is a fundraiser for the youth academy program.
Deputies say it was great to see people volunteer their time for the event.
“‘I’ve been very fortunate,” says Richard Antunez. “I’ve had a very successful career thanks to this program. It means the world to be out here and give back, see other kids go through some of what we have gone through, and I’m not the only one who has gone through this program. A lot of my peers have gone through this program and are now giving back.”
The funds raised will go toward buying uniforms for cadets and sending them to competitions.
