Daytime single-lane closures are scheduled this week on the Vincent Thomas Bridge to make pothole repairs and conduct finger joint monitoring following the recent storms.

Traffic flow will continue in both directions of the bridge — State Route 47 — throughout the closures, which were announced by the California Department of Transportation.

The four-lane, milelong bridge has two lanes in each direction and spans from San Pedro to Terminal Island and across the Port of Los Angeles’ Main Channel.

The schedule for closures is:

Wednesday, Feb. 25: Southbound right lane from Ferry Street to Harbor Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 26: Northbound right lane from Harbor Boulevard to Ferry Street from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 28: Southbound right lane from Ferry Street to Harbor Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Because of potential weather or operational reasons, the schedule is subject to change, including the times and dates, the number of closures and other details, the Caltrans notice said.

Motorists should expect delays when utilizing the  Vincent Thomas Bridge and use Caltrans QuickMap to review current traffic conditions before traveling.

Caltrans also wants drivers to exercise increased caution near the closure and Slow for the Cone Zone.
