BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for help in identifying a suspect accused of throwing a stone at a gas station window, attempting to throw it at employees, and stealing cigarettes at the AMPM on California Avenue in early February.

It happened on Feb. 7, 2026, when the man seen in the photo threw a paving stone at an exterior window of the AMPM located at 3125 California Avenue. The action cracked the window, said police.

Shortly later, the suspect entered the gas station store and motioned as if he was going to throw the stone at the employees, said police. The employees then ran from the building.

The suspect allegedly stole various packs of cigarettes before fleeing from the area.

The suspect is described as a man with dreadlocks, last seen wearing a blue pullover sweater, tan pants, and blue LA Dodgers Crocs.
