According to a press release, Kindness Week was built on the idea that small, intentional acts can help transform a school culture. The middle school’s Lighthouse Leadership helped lead the way, creating a mix of meaningful acts like having morning greeters welcome peers to class in the morning with affirmation stickers, encouraging kids to write Kindness Grams to be delivered to students and teachers, and displaying mentorship by playing games such as Connect 4, Jenga, and Corn Hole with younger students during lunchtime.

As part of the week, kids were encouraged to “Cozy Up for Kindness” with a campus-wide Pajama Day and complete kindness strips to help build a school-wide kindness chain. To share their appreciation for teachers, students had a coffee cart with hand-decorated coffee sleeves on the cups with hearts and happy messages like “You are amazing”.
