ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) — Three people were killed in a fiery crash involving as many as eight vehicles, including four semi-trucks, on the 10 Freeway in Ontario on Tuesday.

The crash occurred on the westbound 10 Freeway just east of the 15 Freeway shortly before 1:15 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol. The wreck shut down several lanes in the area, bringing traffic to a standstill.

The violent crash was captured on dashcam video obtained exclusively by ABC7. It shows a semi-truck slam into the back of an SUV and then plow into multiple other vehicles in the same lane. The semi-truck then veers right and finally comes to a stop after appearing to hit another semi on the side of the road. The video is the subject of a law enforcement investigation.

At least three people were killed and four others were injured in the crash, CHP said. The truck driver, a 21-year-old man from Yuba City, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

The westbound lanes of the freeway were shut down for several hours, but were reopened overnight.
