Solo-Vehicle Crash Leaves Four Dead in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 23, 2026) –  Amber Delgado, 22, of Huntington Park, is one of four people who died early Saturday in a fiery, solo-vehicle crash on Lakewood Boulevard and East Spring Street in Long Beach.

The violent collision occurred around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21st near the Long Beach Airport, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Authorities say a driver in a gray 2008 Honda Accord with three passengers was heading south on Lakewood Boulevard just past Spring Street when the vehicle struck a median in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle crashed into the underpass center support wall under the airport runway and erupted in flames.

A female was found outside the vehicle and died at the scene. Meanwhile, three others were located inside the burned vehicle and were deceased.

Police said two of the victims were females and two were males, but only Amber Delgado has been identified. The ages or identities of the other three victims were not released.

Detectives from the Long Beach Police Department are working on the case will determine whether speed, alcohol, and or drugs were factors. Also, due to the impact with the runway support wall, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is also investigating the crash.
