Downtown Sac’s 10-Year Plan

Downtown Sacramento has changed a lot over the past decade. With the Kings moving to the Golden 1 Center in 2016 and the addition of DOCO shops and eateries, as well as new rental housing, downtown seemed to be a place on the verge. Then the pandemic hit and shelter-in-placer orders took a toll on the area and its businesses. The core of the city has struggled since that time, but what will the next 10 years look like? Scott Ford is the Deputy Director of the Downtown Sacramento Partnership and he joins Insight today to discuss the organization’s goals and priorities for Downtown’s Next Decade.

ICE in CA Hospitals

More than 300 and fifty-thousand people have been arrested by federal immigration authorities since President Donald Trump returned to the White House. As arrests and detentions have climbed, so have reports of people being taken to hospitals by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents because of illness or injury. Recent reporting has found that once detainees are taken in for treatment, hospitals are refusing to allow contact with these patients. Claudia-Boyd Barrett reported on how the family members and lawyers of people in ICE custody are struggling to find them in California hospitals.
