A preliminary magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, in the Johannesburg area in Kern County according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake’s epicenter was located about 25.1 miles south-southeast of Ridgecrest, 37.3 miles northwest of Barstow, and 58.2 miles northeast of Lancaster, the agency reported.
There were no immediate reports of people feeling the earthquake.
No damage or injuries were reported.
