A suspicious item found on a Metro E Line train on Wednesday evening prompted authorities to close Atlantic Station temporarily while investigators responded, officials said.
The item was reported at 7:32 p.m. at the station in the 5100 block of Pomona Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Dominguez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The report involved a suspicious device on a train at the station platform. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Arson and Explosives Detail investigated the scene on Wednesday evening. The closure was lifted at 10:40 p.m.
It was unclear how deputies were notified, but authorities said the report did not come through a 911 call.
Metro said the suspicious item was found on an E Line train at the Atlantic station and that, out of an abundance of caution, the agency notified the Sheriff’s Department, which closed the station during the investigation.
Bus shuttles were operating between the Atlantic and Civic Center stations to accommodate riders.
