BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — President Trump held the State of the Union Address on Tuesday, touching on many issues currently impacting our nation.
During his speech, President Trump recognized a young girl from Bakersfield who was severely injured in a 2024 crash in the Mojave Desert
The crash involved a semi-truck driver who authorities say was an undocumented immigrant from India.
Dahlilah Coleman was left with life altering injuries, the president now using her story to urge congress to pass what he calls “The Dalilah Law”.
The proposed legislation would prohibit states from issuing commercial driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants.
Bakersfield College Adjunct Professor of Political Science Ian Anderson joined ARC Bakersfield to share more insight about how the law might impact the nation.
