Bakersfield Marathon in need of volunteers

The 9th annual Bakersfield Marathon is expecting over 5,000 runners for its event on March 22 and volunteers are needed.

Bakersfield Marathon volunteer coordinator Cornelio Gutierrez-Lozano says approximately 700 volunteers are needed to support various roles before, during and after the race, as well as the Health & Wellness Expo on March 21 and race day activities on March 22.

Race day includes the marathon, half marathon, 10K and 6K fun run events.
